Bliss

Buy this Book!

by Katheryn Littlewood

Time to cook up some magic as the Rambunctious Readers head into their new school year.  A few dozen Cookies of Truth or a few Love Muffins couldn't cause too much trouble...Could they?  A very witty story about self-discovery, family, feelings, loving yourself and true friendship.  Warning:  Laughter will be required to read this book.

  1. I just finished the book and I loved it. It was one of my favorites. I loved that all the kids were named after herbs.
I liked that the author pulled you in with all the problems the kids got into by casting spells. It made me want to keep reading to see how they would get out of trouble. I had a feeling they should not share the recipes with Aunt Lily!
One thing I didn't like was that at the end they didn't get the magic cookery booke back. I wonder if the author will write a sequel so the family can get the cookery booke back.

  2. I really liked the book Bliss. It was probably one of my favorites after Wonder and The Short Seller! Like Hannah, I liked how the Bliss children were named after herbs and my favorite character was Rose. Rose was very determined to help her city after all the bad spells were cast. I was starting to like Aunt Lily because she was helping the kids, but I soon found out that she was on the "other side" of the family, that the Bliss family never spoke to.
My favorite part in the book was when they had the backwards disco party. I thought that part was very funny.
The one thing I didn't like was that at the end of the story the Bliss family never got the magic Cookery Booke back. I hope that the author will write another book so we can see what happens with the family and the book.

  3. I liked the book Bliss because all of the characters in the book change in some way. Rose had more self-confidence, Ty became less lazy, Sage grew up and became more mature, and the whole family respected and became closer to Rose. This is important because all family's should trust and respect each other. Since the kids were left alone with Chip and the nanny. They didn't help much so the kids were on their own. What ever the kids had magically messed up they had to fix without anyone knowing and before their parents got home.

  4. I think that anyone who likes adventurous or mysterious books, would enjoy reading this book. In the book Bliss, Aunt Lily comes to the house, to make her way into the family, while the parents are away. One of the kids, Rose, is left in charge of the shop. She also has to keep an eye on the kids. And one of the most important things she has to do - is keep the book safe from strangers! If the book lands in the wrong hands, there will be a lot of trouble for the towns people. But is it to much for Rose to handle? You must read the book to find out.
